The Meghan Burnett Makerspace, located within the Governor John A. Volpe Library at Wakefield Memorial High School, is a dynamic, hands-on learning environment designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and innovation among students and faculty. The space supports a variety of projects, including STEM activities, digital media creation, crafting, prototyping, and design thinking.

Faculty Reservations:
Faculty members are encouraged to integrate the makerspace into their curriculum or use it for club and special projects. Reservations can be made via the library staff by submitting a Makerspace Reservation Form or by contacting the library directly. Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice to ensure equipment and materials are available.
General Rules and Expectations:
Respect the space: Handle all tools and equipment carefully. Report any damage or malfunctions immediately.
Clean up after use: Return all materials to their proper storage, wipe down surfaces, and properly dispose of waste.
Safety first: Follow all posted safety guidelines, especially when using cutting tools, electronics, or machinery.

No food or drinks: To protect equipment and materials, food and beverages are not allowed in the makerspace.
