Hi there!I’m a librarian, educator, and lifelong nerd who believes that stories—whether told in books, songs, or shared memories—help us see ourselves and each other more clearly. I love helping students discover their next favorite read, learn to navigate the sometimes-wild world of information, and find joy in curiosity. My goal is to make the library a place where everyone feels welcome to explore, question, and grow.I grew up in Charlestown, Massachusetts, and graduated from Boston Latin School in 2007 (Go Wolfpack!). I earned my B.A. in Creative Writing, Comparative Literature, and Classical Studies from Purdue University (Go Boilers!), my MLIS in Youth Services from Simmons College (Go Sharks!), and my M.Ed. in Library Media Studies from Salem State University (Go Vikings!). Clearly, I have a thing for schools with great mascots. When I was in high school, I loved coffee, camp, and annoying my favorite teachers—especially my Spanish teacher, Mr. Forina, who taught me that libraries are both humbling and magical places. I also loved traveling (Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and Costa Rica!), playing the flute badly in band, skating for the varsity girls’ hockey team, sailing on Boston Harbor, and hanging out in Copley Square. My favorite books include A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, Stiff by Mary Roach, and anything by Edith Wharton, Octavia Butler, or Marjane Satrapi—authors who remind me that curiosity and compassion never go out of style.
